Josh Smith is entering his first season with the men’s lacrosse program as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the 2018 campaign.
He is from Mendon, Massachusetts, bringing with him a year of coaching at the DII level, as well as starting experiences from both DII and DIII teams.
Smith was an Assistant Coach at Ohio Valley University for one year as an offensive coach. During his time with the Fighting Scots, he coached three All-Conference players and led the team to the second most wins in school history.
At Coker College, he was a three-year starter, and as a senior was named captain. He is currently sixth all-time in scoring. Smith received First-Team All-Conference honors in 2015, as well as honorable mention All-Conference in 2016. In 2015, he was a part of the SAC Regular Season Conference Championship team that won eight-straight games and gathered national recognition.
Smith attended Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton, Massachusetts where he was a dual-sport athlete playing football and lacrosse. He attended Coker College as an undergrad, majoring in Exercise Science. He will be pursuing his Master's degree in Health Education Promotion with hopes he can continue his career as a collegiate coach.
